Roundtable Gathering
A short clip from our first Roundtable Gathering with most participants present.
In March we hosted our first ever Roundtable Gathering, where leaders of teen centers across the country came together for a time of getting to know each other and sharing the stories of their centers.
In total there were nine attendees representing seven different churches and organizations and nine teen centers.
The focus of this first meeting was simply getting to know each other. For almost everyone present, this was the first time meeting each other and hearing the stories of how their teen centers got launched and how they are impacting the young people in their communities. One of the most exciting aspects of these stories is the unique personality that each one of these centers have. Each center has uniquely adapted the model to reach the young people in their community and has developed its own culture. As these stories were told, we were all inspired and gained new ideas for our own communities.
Future meetings will be focused on specific topics of conversation relating to the teen centers and will include times of sharing successes and failures, asking questions, and receiving much needed feedback and support.
The primary purpose of these meetings is to support each other as we strive to reach the young people of our communities and to build community amongst each other. The first meeting was an important and successful step forward towards these aims.
